The Path Institute, How We Started
After Dr. Judith Herman presented to our community, we were left with this question:
When the justice system doesn’t work, communities are not protected, nobody wins. What then?
Building Justice: Survivors Take the Lead.
When we come together, we know what doesn’t work, and have the collective expertise to re-imagine and develop what does.
And so we began:
PATH Started facilitating monthly structured dialogues with lawyers, school administrators, educational leaders, trauma researchers, restorative practitioners and survivors. Our goal has been to gather information and generate resources. Our first initiative has been to create a space for open dialogue for boarding school administrators. Our hope with this initiative is to expand and provide spaces like this for all affected by sexual abuse and misconduct at boarding schools.
